Junior Engineer: CHC Consulting

October 2015 to Present $22/hour

·   After a 12 week internship, I was offered a permeant position with the title of Junior Engineer at CHC Consulting, a private OSP Telecommunications engineering consulting firm contracted by 2 of the biggest telecom companies in the nation.

·   I currently work in 3 departments:

-Quality Assurance: I review OSP Fiber Optic architectures in a GIS platform, both aerial and subterranean, and make sure the build follows architecture guidelines set by the client.

-Drafting: In the final stages of the architecture QA, I utilize the tools available in the GIS platform to make the appropriate changes in the architecture before CRO.

 

-GIS: Since my education and start at the company was in the GIS department, I also help manage work overflow and am a liaison between the Engineers and the GIS team. (More on GIS duties below)

 

 

GIS Intern: CHC Consulting

Summer 2015 Carlsbad CA $18/Hour

·   Applied and was hired for a 12 week paid internship by CHC Consulting, a private OSP Telecommunications engineering consulting firm contracted by 2 of the biggest telecom companies in the nation.

·   Learned entire fiber optic architectures and the flow of Fiber from the national backbone all the way to the home.

·   GIS tasks included: address validation and geolocation, geo-refrencing and digitizing shape files, map generation for engineers going into the field, and field data collection for vector points (utility poles).

 

 

GIS Analyst Intern: City of Temecula

Summer/Fall 2014

·   Gained over 60 hours’ worth of real world experience.

·   Furthered my proficiency in ArcMap.

·   Learned to use the programs Laserfiche and Permits Plus.

·   Processed planning permits and created map sets for the project sites.

·   Fulfilled and created citizen’s map requests.

·   During the summer of 2012, I was employed by the economic development department at the city of Temecula CA. While there, my team and I built programs for the residents of Temecula such as a

2.              A Homeless Employment Program

3.              A Science Fair for the surrounding areas

4.              A college Fair for the surrounding areas

·   Made and distributed flyers for these programs.

·   Networked with both the city manager and mayor.
